Annaelena Valentini

Annaelena holds a PhD in Economics from the Universities of Siena, Florence and Pisa, with a dissertation on social justice, specifically on inequality of opportunity and the role of circumstances of birth in shaping individual life trajectories. During her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Florence, she has worked on climate change and social vulnerability in Tuscany, mapping the overlap between climate risks and socioeconomic vulnerability across Tuscan municipalities, in collaboration with IRPET. Her main research focus is the quantitative analysis of socioeconomic inequalities. Before joining ARCO, she conducted research visits at the London School of Economics and the Paris School of Economics. In ARCO, she contributes to research and projects on gender equality and social investment policies
