Context
ANCI Toscana is working with the Region of Tuscany to strengthen the social and healthcare integration of the integrated territorial system. This collaboration includes the mapping of all projects launched and funded with the aim of promoting the social and labour market integration and inclusion of migrant citizens living in Tuscany.

The projects are managed by various public and private bodies, including the Region of Tuscany, Unions of Municipalities, Municipalities, Health Authorities, Prefectures, third sector organisations and universities, and are spread throughout the region. ANCI Tuscany has engaged ARCO to map the projects at a regional level and gain a thorough understanding of how they are organised, administered and distributed across the region.

General Objective
The mapping exercise, carried out by the Local Development Unit through the involvement and consultation of various public and private stakeholders, aims to inform ANCI Toscana, the Region of Tuscany and the relevant institutional bodies about projects currently underway or those that have been submitted and funded during 2025 in the field of social and labour market inclusion of migrant citizens in Tuscany.

Our contribution
The mapping exercise was structured in two main phases. The first phase involved identifying projects that were active, in the process of being launched, or for which funding had been requested within the region. The study focused on projects and services aimed at the social and labour market integration and inclusion of migrant citizens in Tuscany.
ARCO developed a questionnaire, which was distributed with the support of ANCI Toscana to public and private stakeholders, as the main tool for gathering information.

The second phase involved a literature review, accompanied by a phase of contact with certain public and private stakeholders aimed at verifying the information relating to the main projects identified through the questionnaire. An analysis of the findings was then carried out, distinguishing, in agreement with ANCI Toscana, the different levels of analysis and focusing on certain aspects deemed particularly relevant, such as the European Union’s AMIF (Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund) projects currently funded in the region.
